How it works


With our unique partnership publishing model, once your manuscript has been submitted and accepted, we support you through the process to the printing stage. 
There is no charge for this service. When you are ready to publish, and we believe the book is to Tangerine BooksNZ's standard:

We will 

  1. recommend a reputable book printer
  2. provide you with:

  • an image file of the imprint to put on the spine of your book
  • an image of our brand 'Tangerine BooksNZ' to put inside your book
  • our NZ ISBN registration number for the back cover and copyright page

It will be your responsibility to 

  1. print a minimum of 50 copies 
  2. set a recommended retail price (RRP) for your book

Once your book is printed
  • donate 10 copies of your printed book to Tangerine BooksNZ
  • Tangerine BooksNZ will advertise your book on our website at the RRP for 1 year
  • take orders and payment for your book
  • any sales via our website will be packaged and posted at our cost
  • after your donated books are sold, we will notify you of the results. At that point, you can choose to: 
    1. Receive updates on future sales inquiries for your books, or
    2. Provide Tangerine BooksNZ with additional copies to sell on consignment. If you choose the consignment option, we will retain 50% of the recommended retail price (RRP) from each book sold, and pay the remaining 50% to your account annually at year-end.
